Paper Jet
Paper
Jet is an award-wining skiff design by Dudley
Dix for amateur
boat building. The boat is very versatile, with several rig options to
allow solo
sailing, club style sailing, and performance sailing.
We were approached by the French representative for the plans and kits,
(François Marti), we loved the project and decided to create a
modern sail plan for the Paper Jet, to complement its wooden mast.
We did detailed flex measurement of Francois' mast, and designed a full
batten high aspect, square top main. This modern design offers
both high
performance in low winds with high leech tension; and a self regulating
behavior in higher/ gusty winds, as the leech opens up easily and spills
the
extra power at will. Laminate cloth and radial construction offer both
stability and durability.
This main is complemented by a bi-radial laminate blade style jib, and
a large, 15 sqm tri-radial Airx cloth Asymmetrical.....
All in all, ultimate performance that will be available to builders
worldwide as soon as we finish development in late Spring 2011- The
first set of sails is undergoing on-water trials - do not hesitate to
be in touch if you want more details on this project!
The sails can be ordered from our US
Store, or you can contact
